Funny replies when someone asks about your weekend plans

An empty weekend can be something to look forward to. So can a small outing, an ambitious lie-in or a plan that has not quite become a plan. You can answer playfully without pretending your diary is bursting.

Choose a reply that leaves the right opening. Someone asking about your plans may be making small talk—or working up to inviting you somewhere.

Any plans for the weekend?

Nothing booked. I'm trying not to spoil it.

Getting laid would be nice. Starting with a shower.

Leave space for an invitation

If you would like to see them, make your availability clear after the joke. A funny reply about doing nothing can otherwise sound as though you would rather be left alone. The other person should not need to decode your sense of humour to work out whether you are free.

If you want the time to yourself, you can say so without inventing a complicated excuse. You are allowed to enjoy a quiet weekend. Keep the explanation as short as you want it to be.

Friends, colleagues and someone you fancy

With friends, Cheeky gives you room to play with your lack of organisation. With colleagues, Wholesome is an easier starting point. Some Edgy replies contain swearing or a sexual reference; those need a much more familiar audience and are unlikely to suit a general work chat.

Do not use a suggestive version just because you hope someone will take it as flirting. If you are unsure of the mood, a gentler reply followed by a clear invitation gives them a more comfortable way to respond.

When your plans change halfway through the chat

That is fine. A playful answer is not a contract with your sofa. If an appealing suggestion comes up, say yes, ask about the details or offer another time. The conversation has done its job if it leads to something you both fancy doing.

For the Monday return, there is a separate set of answers about the weekend just gone. Keep the two situations separate: one is an opening for plans, the other is a chance to share a little story.
